Software for mobile mechanics
Bookings arrive with the car and the address, the job card lives on your phone, and the invoice goes out with a pay link before you drive off.
Updated 6 October 2026
GoFolio is built around how a mobile mechanic works: the booking arrives with the job address, the job card lives on your phone, and the invoice with a pay link goes out before you leave the kerb. It costs A$99.99 a month including GST, on one plan, with no per-job or per-user pricing.
A day on the road, job by job
The night before
At 5pm your time, on days you’re open, you get a text saying how many jobs are booked for tomorrow, so you can plan the run before bed. It’s on from day one, and we’ll move it to whatever hour suits you.
When a booking lands
The customer books from your link: service, day, then their details. Every booking captures make, model, year, rego and odometer, plus the job address with Google address lookup, so you know where you’re driving before you call. You get an email and a text alert for each new booking. The customer gets a confirmation by email and, in Australia, by SMS.
At the kerb
Open the booking on your phone. Tap the address for the map, tap the number to call or text. Everything for the job sits on that one screen: notes split into Work completed and Advisory, a parts editor (name, quantity, price), photos from the camera, the inspection checklist if the service uses one, and the draft invoice.
Before you drive off
Each booking already has a draft invoice, and the parts you entered are on it. Add your labour line, check the preview, and send it by email and SMS. If you’ve connected your own Stripe account, the customer can pay by card from the link and the invoice marks itself paid when Stripe confirms. Paid cash or by transfer on the day? Record how it was paid and snap a photo of the receipt or transfer screen as proof.
Later in the week
The Unpaid list shows how long each invoice has been out. When one needs a nudge, tap Send reminder and the customer gets a friendly reminder with the pay link by email and text. You pick who gets one and when, so a regular who always pays on Friday never gets chased on Wednesday.
Why customers pick a day, not a time
On the road, the second job of the day starts whenever the first one finishes. A seized bolt or a wrong part turns a promised 10:30 into 12:00. So customers choose a day, and the booking page tells them you’ll call to confirm the exact time. The booking shows “Time TBD” until you set one.
Your booking page knows how many jobs you take in a day. Once a day is full it greys out, so customers pick another one. You can still squeeze a job in yourself from New Booking with “Override and book anyway”. Each service can also carry a notice period, so nobody books a full service for tomorrow morning when you need a day to order parts.
What a 60-job month looks like
Here is the arithmetic for one mobile mechanic doing about 60 jobs a month, all paid by invoice, open about 22 days a month. The plan includes 500 texts a month, covering your own alerts as well as the customer’s, and every GoFolio text is written to fit in one.
| Item | Per job | 60 jobs a month |
|---|---|---|
| Booking confirmation to the customer | 1 | 60 |
| New-booking alert to you | 1 | 60 |
| Invoice text with pay link | 1 | 60 |
| Reminder text (say 1 job in 4) | 0.25 | 15 |
| Night-before text to you (22 open days) | 22 | |
| Texts used | 217 of 500 | |
| Subscription (A$99.99 incl. GST) | A$1.67 | A$99.99 |
Every message also goes by email, so the customer has the invoice in their inbox as well as their texts. Card fees are separate: Stripe charges them on your own account. Since 1 October 2026 eftpos, Mastercard and Visa rules no longer allow a card surcharge, according to the Reserve Bank , so build the fee into your prices.
Common questions
Can my apprentice or a second mechanic use it too?
Yes. They join your account with a 6-character join code and see the same bookings and invoices. You can assign a booking to a mechanic and each one gets their own colour on the calendar. The owner looks after the team and the join code.
Do customers need an account to book or pay?
No. The booking page, invoice page and card payment all work from a link without logging in.
